1) The Black tape on the end of the hose is your friend, don’t remove it. It holds the braid together. In fact, further securing it with electrical tape is a good idea.
2) Although the hoses look very smooth, they are not. They have lots of little braid ends up and down the length of the hose. You will get pricked if you do not wear gloves
3) The braid should be consistent in pattern and direction, it is, however not perfect. There are 1000’s of individual fibers that come together to make the braid, and there is some slight deviation due to hose size, length, and curvature.
4) You may find a snag or create one while you are working with the hose. A snag is a strand or two of braid that has pulled away from the hose. Do Not Pull It. Simply take a pair of snips and trim is as close to the hose as you can.
5) The OEM hoses are sometimes run so that they are hidden. Have fun, run your new braided lines so they can be seen! You do not have to follow the exact path of the OEM hose.
6) Want to cut your braided line? No problem. Simply wrap the area you want to cut with electrical tape and use a fine toothed hack saw (a band saw with a fine blade works great)
7) Don’t bend or pinch your braided line. It will ruin the braid and collapse the hose. You can tell where the hose is willing to bend and where it is not. Remember, the hose does not need to follow the original path of the OEM hose.
8) Braided Hose WILL SCRATCH your car. If you drag it across your paint, as light as a feather, it WILL SCRATCH your car. Cover your fenders. Remove any aftermarket Chrome/Stainless Steel/Pained Trim Accessories you have installed.
9) Get a bag of Cat Litter for the Radiator fluid you ARE going to spill on the ground.
